Baku Street Photography Festival (BSPF) is open to all amateur and professional photographers worldwide. Entrants should be at least 14 years old at the date of entry.

To enter the contest please visit www.bakustreetphoto.az  to upload images from your computer or send your works on email contest@bakustreetphoto.az. When your submission has been completed, you will get an e-mail confirmation.

Uploaded image files should be as JPEGs or PNGs that are a minimum of 1200 pixels and maximum 2MB per image. 

 

*Please do not include watermarks, borders, or signatures in your entry.

CONTEST PRIZES AND BENEFITS

The festival contest is supported by Canon and DiVi (Azerbaijan)

 

JUDGING

Entries will be judged by a invited jury. A panel of experts in photography will each review all entries and select a group of winning entries based on creativity, artistic merit, subject, and style.

USAGE RIGHTS

Images will be used strictly in connection to the awards and will not be used for any other marketing purposes other than to promote Baku Street Photography Festival (BSPF) on the website www.bakustreetphoto.az and on the social networks dedicated to the contest.

 

How many photos can a person send at most?

Single Photo category: maximum 5 images,

Photo Series category: 1 series (series up to 10 images)

Analogue category: maximum 5 images for single, maximum 10 images for series. 

Mobile category: maximum 5 images

How does the jury choose?

Juries cannot see the names of the participants; they see the photographs with the participant's registration numbers. First, each member of the jury evaluates participants on a scale of 10. According to the jury’s assessment, the winners will be the photographs with the highest scores.

 

Will the photos be exhibited?

An exhibition will be held as an event with the physical and virtual spaces. The final photos will be shown online as a virtual exhibition on www.bakustreetphoto.az as well as you will have a chance to see them in an offline format. A photo exhibition is planned for the near future.

 

Copyrights?

The copyrights of the photos belong to their owners. Photographs can only be used for promotional activities. Finalist photos are published on our website and social networks with the name of the photographer.

Contests:

SINGLE (one image one story)

Maximum 5 photos, JPEGs or PNGs that are a minimum of 1200 pixels longest side and 2MB per image. 

 

*No defamatory, sexually explicit, obscene, political context, or abusive photographs will be accepted. By submitting photographs, the applicant agrees that materials could be used for promotional activities in all media including social media and print of BSPF's current and future events including festivals, workshops, and exhibitions.

SERIES  (Collection of images that are linked and showcased together, they have the same theme and have a conceptual bond or are shot at the same location)

1 series (Maximum 10 images from the person, judged as a series), JPEGs or PNGs that are a minimum of 1200 pixels and maximum 2MB per image. 

*No defamatory, sexually explicit, obscene, political context, or abusive photographs will be accepted. By submitting photographs, the applicant agrees that materials could be used for promotional activities in all media including social media and print of BSPF’s current and future events including festivals, workshops, and exhibitions.

ANALOGUE (Has undeniable importance, purpose, and resilience in the image-making world despite, and in tandem with, newer omnipresent technologies. These analogue processes were the only methods available to photographers for more than a century prior to the invention of digital photography, which uses electronic sensors to record images to digital media)

a) Single analogue image: Maximum 5 photos, JPEGs or PNGs that are a minimum of 1200 pixels and a maximum of 2,000 pixels on the longest side and 2MB per image.

b) Series analogue images: 1 series (maximum 10 images from the person, judged as a series), JPEGs or PNGs that are a minimum of 1200 pixels and 2MB per image.

MOBILE PHOTO (The main tools through which we document our everyday life. In light of the COVID-19 crisis, we aim to understand how such an unprecedented situation is redefining the relationship with our home, family, and community)

Maximum 3-5 photos, JPEGs or PNGs that are a minimum of 1200 pixels and maximum 2MB per image. 

 

*No defamatory, sexually explicit, obscene, political context, or abusive photographs will be accepted.

By submitting photographs, the applicant agrees that materials could be used for promotional activities in all media including social media and print of BSPF's current and future events including festivals, workshops, and exhibitions.

 

Submission guidelines:

  • The submitted image should not exceed JPEGS or PNGS that are a minimum of 1200 pixels and maximum 2MB per image. We cannot accept photos as prints or CDs in the mail.

  • Photographs may be either in color or monochrome.

  • Photographs should not contain watermarks or signatures.

  • All photographs should follow generally accepted street photography practices - photos cannot be staged, heavily photoshopped, or digitally manipulated except for adjusting exposure, contrast, or similar techniques and must be taken in any public space.

  • No defamatory, sexually explicit, obscene, political context, or abusive photographs will be accepted.

  • Submitted photographs may have been taken at any time.

Terms & Conditions

  • Contests are open to participants from all countries.

  • Entrants must be over 14 years old.

  • Entrants retain copyrights of the photographs submitted. Entrants must possess legal rights and be the authors of the photographs submitted.

  • BSPF and YARAT may neither sell nor use the photographs other than for promotional activities in all media including social media and print of BSPF's current and future events including festivals, workshops, and exhibitions unless agreed by both parties.

  • All finalists will be required to submit high-resolution photographs if their photos are selected for the final exhibition.

  • Winners of all contests will be announced on the BSPF website and social networks.

  • By submitting photographs to the contests, entrants agree to comply with the terms & conditions.

  • Admission is free.

   

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Baku Street Photography Festival (BSPF), all respective partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, damages, and injuries arising out of their participation in this festival. 

 

The Organizer (YARAT) assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to festival entries or entry forms; or alteration of entries or entry forms. The Organizers are not responsible for any problems with or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, human errors of any kind, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrants’ or any other persons’ computers related to or resulting from participation, uploading, or downloading of any materials related to this festival.
