About The Event

Baku Street Photography Festival invites you to meeting with well-known photographer Emin Mathers. During the event, his exclusive book The Emergency Door of the Museum (2020) will be presented.

Having been woven not only from rich nature, ancient buildings and the brightest contrasts, Baku is also a city whose main storytellers are people, and Emin, is a person who has devoted his time to touching the atmosphere and sensations of this City.

Emergency Door of the Museum whispers about the history of the city through the prism of one person. He is the one for whom there is no better way to express the stories that are all around us through the visions of colors, symbols, feelings and moments flowing among us. Each new shot is an amazing example of everyday coloration.

To share his observations, Emin Mathers (b. 1990, Baku) began practicing photography as more realistic tool in the last year of his studies (2009) at University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Emin is mainly engaged in street photography to observe the daily life of citizens, and to draw conclusions about reality he deals with conceptual photography. Emin also works on photo essays for such media platforms as chaikhana.media, he is a participant of the UN75: A Global Conversation, and a finalist of the London Street Photo Festival 2020. His photographs are kept in various galleries, public and private collections in Azerbaijan, Russia, Italy, United Kingdom, Georgia and USA.

For me, photography is a simple proof that I really lived the moment, and the opportunity to collect and share an honest visual experience. Emin Mathers
